Burston Strike School Rally – Sunday 1st September 2019

The longest strike in British history was not the Miners – it was minors, the children of Burston, a small village in Norfolk, who started a strike on 1st April 1914 which lasted for over 25 years. Find out more here:   https://burstonstrikeschool.co.uk/rally2019/

Unison Hertfordshire is organising a trip to the annual rally held to celebrate this unique moment in British Labour history. The rally will celebrate the people who continue to fight for trade union rights, education, democracy and solidarity.

A coach will leave County Hall, Hertford at 8.00am on Sunday 1st September and will return to County Hall on Sunday evening. Cost is £10 to Unison Members (£15 to non-members). The Trade UNION Act comes into effect on 1st March 2018. Under the New Act, new members must actively sign up and pay an additional 5% over and above their normal subs to fund UNISON'S Political and Campaigning work.
